Marlenne Lizardo, LPC-Associate, Supervised by Cristal Acosta, LPC-S
Therapist: Couples, individuals, groups. Post graduate associate.
Marlenne Lizardo is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas, under the supervision of Cristal Acosta, LPC-S, LPCC, NCC, CCTP and Richard Salcido, LPC-S. She understands that deciding to pursue therapy can be a challenging decision, but she views it as a sign of strength and a powerful act of self-love. In times when life feels overwhelming, and it seems like there is no way out, Marlenne believes that seeking help is one of the bravest steps someone can take toward understanding their own story and finding hope.
Marlenne’s therapeutic approach is integrative, taking into account the bio-psychosocial factors that can influence or contribute to mental health struggles. In her professional work, she emphasizes cultural humility, cultural competence, trust, and respect, ensuring that these values guide each session. Marlenne believes that building strong, genuine, and enduring working relationship with clients is essential for achieving mental health and overall well-being.
As an advocate for mental health, Marlenne is passionate about making mental health services accessible to all and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. She works tirelessly to engage the community through psychoeducation and advocacy efforts.
Marlenne holds the belief that while people may not always be able to change their external environment, they can significantly improve their quality of life by exploring within to remain successful and functional in any environment.
Skilled in various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), Marlenne enjoys working with adults, couples, and families, addressing a diverse range of issues.
As Mary Pipher once said, Therapy isn’t Radio. We don’t need to constantly fill the air with sounds. Sometimes, when it’s quiet, surprising things happen. Marlenne believes in the power of quiet reflection and the transformative potential it holds in the therapeutic process.
Marlenne’s Sessions are only $30. She also takes Cigna and Aetna.
