Hello!
Carmen Zuñiga, Graduate Student Counseling Intern
There is an inner knowing in each of us, steady, resilient, and often overlooked, waiting to be trusted again. Carmen’s hope is to walk alongside her clients as they reconnect with that inner wisdom, letting it light theway throughout the seasons of life they find themselves in.
As a graduate counseling student completing her clinical practicum at Clarity Counseling, Carmen holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling at Naropa University.
Her approach is rooted in the belief that healing unfolds in relationship. In session, she offers a space that feels safe, warm, and unhurried, one where each client’s story is met without judgment, and where culture and spiritual beliefs are honored as part of the whole person. Carmen provides services in both English and Spanish, understanding the needs of our Latino communities.
Carmen holds each client’s experience with care and curiosity, drawing on her roots as a promotora/community health worker, a steady contemplative practice, and training in somatic, relational, and parts-based work. Woven through all of it is a trauma-informed presence, gentle enough to meet each client exactly where they are.
She welcomes parents, immigrants, and individuals navigating life’s transitions, grief, emotional stress, career pressures, burnout, or the quiet weight of self-criticism. She holds a particular love for working through a cultural lens, honoring the ways our roots, language, and community shape how we heal. Carmen would be honored to walk with you in this journey of self-discovery and healing.
As a graduate counselor student, Carmen offers a flat rate of $25 per session to make therapy more accessible.
